Vampire Weekend is all grown up. Lead singer Ezra Koenig sings of adulthood and loss of youth, not so much of Oxford commas (but we all know they didn't care too much for those in the first place). And throws in some Old Testament references, too. Their third album which came out this May, has been my September soundtrack.
The whole thing is amazing, two bell-curves of energy. The album starts off slow with "Obvious Bicycle" and makes it way to "Diane Young" a nice pun... "dynin' young." Things slows down with some great tracks, like "Hannah Hunt" and "Everlasting Arms" and picks up again with "Fingerback," which sounds like "A-Punk." Then it makes its way back down to "Young Lion."
I'd reccommend checking it out. Meanwhile...If Diane Young won't change your mind:
